Day 7 - Journal Exercise (Trip)

Image
" Write about a trip you’ve taken ." 💠 When I was a Sophomore in High School, I spent a semester with my sister, brother-in-law, and niece. They invited me on their trip to Cancun, Mexico. It was and still remains, the only time I had ventured out of the States. I remember the beaches being extremely white and fluffy and the sand wasn't anything like our beaches in the Gulf of Mexico, Texas. The sand here is brownish and littered with debris and jellyfish. Don't get me wrong, they are still beautiful, in their own way, and I am grateful for living only a few hours away from open waters, but the contrast of the two experiences are very different.  I can't remember what it was that I ate or drank that first day in Cancun, but it did its number on me. Montezuma II, the last Aztec Emperor to rule before being conquered by Spanish Conquistador Cortes, apparently got the last laugh. Many tourists visiting Mexico fall ill with a  virus coined "Montezuma's Reven...

Day 6 - Journal Exercise (Holiday Experience)

Image
" Reflect on a holiday experience with a friend or family member ." 💠 I used to spend almost every summer and winter in a small gulf town with my Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. My Aunt had this beautiful home on the water, which could accommodate all of us comfortably. On July 4th we would take a little boat out and my cousin would wear these terribly tacky American Flag swim trunks, plug his electric guitar into a portable amp and we'd jam out to Patriotic songs. For Christmas, my Uncle would dress up as Santa, and we'd play a Christmas gift game where we'd all buy 1 gift under $20, number them, and randomly assign the numbers to everyone. This was a great way to share gifts, with so many aunts, uncles, and cousins, buying everyone a gift would have cost a fortune; In this way, no one was left out. The tree was always over 10feet tall and covered with hundreds of lights and ornaments. I am very thankful for having such an exciting childhood filled with vacations a...

Day 4 - Journal Excercise (10 Years)

Image
Where do you see yourself in ten years? 💠 Thinking back 10 years, it was a few months away from 12-21-2012. My head was in such a different place with Mayan Calendar Prophecies, and so much drama going on, it feels like I barely even know the person I was back then. If I had asked myself back then where I thought I would be in 10 years, I most likely wouldn't have even given it a second thought. I would certainly not have imagined I would be on a path of Holistic Health, having overcome a battle with pancreatitis, practicing Grounding to Earth, studying Chakra Heart Balancing, and semi-cosmetic, Organic, Soap-Making Business goals. Matching such an exponential change is hard for me to even fathom. All I can honestly hope for myself in the next 10 years, is continuing to try and be a little better than the day I was before, remaining productive and diligent in all my endeavors, strengthening my relationships with family and friends, and not looking back on my past with regret, no...

Day 3 - Journal Exercise (Seasons)

Image
" Write about the current season ." (3 ad 17 swapped our b/c of the full moon) 💠 💠 Season come,  Seasons go,  The hot summer sun,  The cold winter snow,  The tides rise high,  The tides fall low,  This is life's sweet ebb and flow...  So when the blue skies turn to gray ,  Have peace and know, They're not to stay. 💠 ~ SilverPhoenix222 ~
